UNSW Global Consulting is the project management division of NewSouth Global Pty Limited, a wholly owned entity by The University of New South Wales. UNSW Global Consulting manages projects in the capacity of both sole manager and joint partner manager.UNSW Global Consulting collects, uses and stores personal and sensitive information in relation to:
- the submission of expressions of interest
- capability statements
- tenders
UNSW Global Consulting recognises and values the protection of your personal information. UNSW Global Consulting is governed by and observes the requirements of Commonwealth Privacy Act 2000. UNSW Global Consultinghas devised and will adhere to this policy to describe the means of collection, use, storage, access and disposal of any personal or sensitive information received by UNSW Global Consulting from you.
Personal Information Collected?
When providing us with your personal information, we will inform you of how that information will be used. Types of personal information that we collect are:
- curricula vitae
- consultants registration forms, both hard copy and electronic format
- business cards
This personal information may be collected from various sources including:
- responses to advertisements
- web site inquiries
- e- mail, mail, facsimile and word of mouth; and
- information received from suppliers of third parties
UNSW Global Consulting has accepted and adopted the National Privacy Principals reflected in the Privacy Act as amended or varied from time-to-time. We will not collect any personal information which is of an offensive nature. However, we may collect sensitive information relating to your:
- nationality
- membership to professional associations; and
- referee details
All of this information is deemed to be entirely confidential and is maintained only through necessity and you give us your express consent to collect and store that information. All sensitive information stored by us will be dealt with strictly in accordance with the requirements of the Privacy Act.
Use and Disclosure of Personal Information
We will keep your information that we collect from you strictly confidential. We will not sell, distribute, rent, license, disclose or reveal, share or pass the information onto any third parties, other than those who are contracted to us to keep the information confidential. We will only pass information onto third parties where we know information is subject to a statute or a scheme which imposes similar restrictions to the National Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act regarding the handling of personal information. We may disclose personal information that we collect from you for the purpose specified to you at the time of collection if:
- you would reasonably expect us to disclose it for that purpose
- that purpose is related to the purpose specified to you at the time of collection
The primary purpose for which your personal information may be used is in the submission of documents to our clients (including our client’s based overseas) for the purposes of obtaining paid project work. The type of submissions include:
- expressions of interest
- capability statements
- tenders
Personal information submitted to us will be in the form of Curricula Vitae relating to the work available. If we wish to disclose any personal information collected from you for reasons other than those set out above we will not do so unless we have your prior consent. Seek written and verbal consent and make a file note (including date) on the database in the comments field.
Quality of Personal Information
Considering the nature of our relationship with you, it is vital that your personal information is accurate, complete and up-to-date. Please contact us when the information changes. If the information we have about you is not accurate, complete or up-to-date, contact us and we will correct it.
Security of your information
We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that all information used or disclosed is accurate, up-to-date, complete, stored and disposed of in a secure environment accessed only by our authorised personnel. Transmissions sent to or from the UNSW Global Consulting web site are monitored only for quality control and systems administration. Please keep in mind that no information transmitted over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We will endeavour to protect your personal information, however, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us. Your transmissions are conducted at your own risk.
Accessing, correcting or up-dating your personal information
UNSW Global Consulting maintains a consultants database subject to regular updates of information. The database administrator continuously reviews the database and amendments are made when we:
- receive a revised curriculum vitae
- receive an e-mail requesting changes
- contact you via e-mail or post to obtain your current details
After two unsuccessful attempts to contact you, we will delete your Curriculum Vitae from our computer system and if a hard copy is received we will destroy it. Where you have provided business cards to us, you consent for us to retain the business cards on our file and enter those details into our database. You agree that we may contact you using that information as a point of reference. If you do not wish us to use that information on our database, please contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this Policy
UNSW Global Consulting may change this Privacy Policy from time to time for any reason. This Privacy Policy was issued in December 2001.
