Description of project:
The objective of the technical assistance was to increase awareness of international practices and methodologies relating to international taxation, in particular multinational corporations to assist in the preparation of China's State Administration of Taxation (SAT) for WTO requirements. All three activities were completed - with SAT participants continuing an ongoing connection with the expert consultants.
- Activity 1 - provided a scooping opportunity for the training which followed
- Activity 2 - provided mid ranking exposure to international experience
- Activity 3 - overview and comment to senior SAT officials of progress to date through a high level workshop in Beijing.
The activities resulted in the development of a policy paper recommending reform to laws and processes for the administration of taxation for foreign owned enterprises.
Services provided:
Three activities:
Overall project direction, management and administration. Supply and mobilisation of short term technical advisers & lecturers. Coordination of international study tour for senior SAT officials. Responsible for all reporting to AusAID and all associated groups.
