Description of project:
The project is supporting the PRC Ministries of Supervision and Construction to strengthen their capacity to identify and eliminate corrupt practices in the Chinese construction industry. Particular emphasis is being given to tendering and bidding regulations and information systems for planning, monitoring and evaluation of large infrastructure projects.
Project activities include:
- Initial project identification and design contract; workshops in Beijing and Nanjing with senior counterparts
- consultancies to China to undertake capacity analysis of existing systems
- study tours and work placements in Australia; training programs in Australia in investigative audit methodologies and dynamic database systems
- development of procedures manuals
- monitoring and evaluation of counterpart implementation plan
Services provided:
Three activities:
UNSW IP was contracted to develop the project design from a preceding phase of this project. UNSW IP is providing the project and financial management for the project, mobilisation of consultants, monitoring and evaluation, reporting and is responsible for all contractual milestones and the achievement of project objectives.
