UNSW Global Consuting works with UNSW’s National Centre in HIV Social Research (NCHSR), National Centre in HIV Epidemiology and Clinical Research (NCHECR) and the newly established International HIV Research Group within the School of Public Health and Community Medicine to implement international projects focusing on the reduction of HIV transmission through:

• social research including the mapping of risk and sexual practice;
• understanding cultural and social dynamics;
• behavioural surveillance;
• HIV epidemiology and prevention;
• forecasting the economic impact of HIV/AIDS, and
• capacity building of health practitioners and staff at ministries of health.
